Features: Adaptable to wide range of conditions. In forested areas, lacy foliage patterns are beautiful. Red stems of new growth contrast with very green leaves

Growing conditions: Will withstand drier more exposed sites than vine maple. Can also so wetlands nicely.

Uses and comments: Acer glabrum is known as Rocky Mountain maple in interior of US, var. douglasii is more coastal version, from Alaska through Oregon
